Home/Fencing & Decking
A backyard your family lives in all summer.
We build the composite and pressure treated decks, pergolas and fences that turn the back of your house into the part you use from April through October.
What we build
Composite or pressure treated
01How long do you plan to stay in this house?
02How do you feel about staining and sealing it?
03What matters more on this project?
Your answer
This is the conversation we have at every deck estimate in Bloomington-Normal. Answer three questions and we will tell you which material we would build for you, and what it costs you either way.
Costs more to build and almost nothing to own. No staining or sealing, it will not split or splinter, and it keeps its color instead of weathering gray. Best if you are staying put.
Builds the same size deck for less, and you can stain it any color. Wood moves though. It will warp, split and crack, and it needs staining and sealing on a schedule.
Recent work
Composite boards, a white pergola and aluminum rail, built for a yard that gets used.
Straight answers
Use the picker above and you will have our answer in about ten seconds. The short version: composite if you are staying put, treated if budget is leading. We put both numbers on the same quote so you are comparing decks, not sales pitches.
It depends on the size, the height off the ground and the weather. You get the timeline in writing with your quote, and you will know the schedule before we start rather than after.
Sometimes. It comes down to what the current frame and footings will carry. We look at the structure first and tell you honestly whether extending it is a good idea.
Yes. Chain link, privacy fence and gates, including drive gates. Doing both together usually saves you a trip charge and gets the gate placed to work with your new stairs.
Our workmanship, on most projects. That means anything that fails because of how it was installed. Materials carry their own manufacturer warranty. We will tell you exactly what is covered on your project before you sign anything.
We build year round in Bloomington-Normal, but spring fills up fast. Book the estimate early in the year and you are usually eating out there by summer.

One visit is all it takes to stop guessing. Do it now and the grass out back becomes the reason people come over.
