Home/Our Process
Always know where your project stands.
Six steps, the same on a single bathroom and on a whole house. Here is exactly what happens, what we need from you, and what you get at the end of each one.
Start to finish
Everything starts with your call. Reach out to us with your project idea, big or small, and we'll be ready to listen.
We believe in the importance of understanding your space and needs firsthand. We'll schedule a visit to your property to assess the project scope and discuss your vision in detail.
Based on our visit and your project requirements, we'll craft a detailed quote. This will outline the costs, timeline, and what you can expect from the completion of your project.
We know you might have questions or need clarifications. That's why we'll follow up after sending the proposal, ready to answer any queries and make necessary adjustments.
Once you're satisfied and give us the green light, we'll proceed with implementing the proposal. Our team will work diligently, keeping you informed and involved at every step, to transform your vision into reality.
Our job isn't done until you're completely satisfied with the work. We'll walk you through the finished project, ensuring it meets our high standards and, more importantly, your expectations.
Before you commit to anything
What the work costs and what is included in it, so a cheaper quote from someone else can be compared honestly rather than on the total alone.
When we start, roughly how long it takes and which parts depend on material lead times. You are not guessing at the schedule.
What the space looks like when we hand it back, and what our two year workmanship warranty covers on your specific project.
The part nobody explains
Open up an old house and things turn up. We stop, show you what we found, and explain what it means before anyone carries on.
Any change gets priced before the work happens. Nothing lands on the final invoice that you have not already agreed to.
Fix it now, defer it, or change the approach. We will tell you what we would do, then build whichever one you choose.
Why homeowners pick us
Based on South Hershey Road in Bloomington, so we understand the houses here and the weather that gets at them. Staying close is what lets us show up quickly.
A faulty outlet, a whole kitchen, a deck or the outside of the house. We have the trades to handle it, and you deal with one company either way.
We are a smaller company on purpose. That means personal service, a real person on the phone, and a relationship that does not end at the final invoice.
Straight answers
Correct. The call, the site visit and the written quote are free, and there is no obligation at the end of them. If the number is not right for you, that is a completely fine outcome.
Usually within a few days, and faster in the quieter months. Staying inside Bloomington-Normal is what makes that possible rather than scheduling you around a two hour drive.
Our crew, and you will know who is coming and what they are working on. If you have a question during the day, calling gets you someone who has been on your project.
Payment terms are set out in your quote before you sign, so they are agreed rather than assumed. Ask at the site visit and we will walk you through exactly how it works on a project your size.
Then we quote that part. Plenty of projects get phased over a couple of years, and knowing that up front helps us build the first phase so the second one is easier.
We walk it with you, sort anything that is not right, and your workmanship warranty runs for two years on most projects. The number you have been calling still works afterward.
Free estimate
Step one is a conversation about what you are thinking. No measuring tape, no pressure, no cost.
Everything after that is just us doing what is written on this page.
Call or text. It reaches Colby, not an answering service.
